Well, after a short (and well deserved!) break, we’re back with another instalment of SharePoint news, gossip and great products! We hope you are all enjoying your summer breaks (apologies to anyone in the southern hemisphere who is currently in the middle of winter!) and that the weather is being kind.

In this edition, as well as the usual SharePoint event dates for your diary and news articles you can find out about a great Calendar web part from KwizCom, follow a link to the Moss Show podcast (where our community newsletter gets a mention) and download a free SharePoint book. We hope you like it!

How to migrate data from MySql to a list?

SharePoint DiscussionIf you have experience of both MySql and SharePoint perhaps you can help Anindya with some ideas ? One selected response, by mohammad siddiqali, is as follows :

"The easy way to Import is to export MYSQL data to Access or excel and from there Import to SharePoint 2010 list.Better to run Access 2007 Run Time because you can select datasheet view for list which you can do copy paste from excel to list or MS Access to list I have done these several times. These task can be done with out writing any code ,If the data is bulk then increase the list threshold because the limit of SharePoint list is only upto 5000 .So before doing the task my view is to increase the list threshold and then perform the action you can contact me to siddiqali87@gmail.com or mdsiddiqali@yahoo.com" - join in the discussion.
